The Basis of the Power of the Holy Spirit

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

“That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, becoming conformed unto His death” – (Phil. 3:10)

Here in clearly stated the Power that moves the hands of God in the Church. Without the resurrection there can be no power of the Holy Spirit. The power of the resurrection is unto the knowledge of Christ. And the power of the Holy Spirit is unto the testimony of God. To know Christ means to know the power of the resurrection; and to know the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is to know Christ himself.

In this manner of knowing Christ, knowing the power of His resurrection is a principal factor. Infact it is the only factor that is mentioned pertaining to the Holy Spirit’s power working on the earth. For there is no other way that the Almighty has declare His power comes from, but by the Holy Spirit.

Only by our knowing the power of the resurrection of the Lord do we come to the true knowledge of Him who “has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light…”. And this power of resurrection is also the power of the Holy Spirit, without which no one is fit to bear the witness for the Lord.

Being Handpicked by God

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

There is this wonderful thing about being a Christian. It is the realization of God’s love on a very personal note. A very personal and yet a very outgoing one. What I mean is – when a believer comes to see this wonderful thing, he sees himself on a personal level with God ( remember the Lord Jesus walking the dusty land of Judah seeing eye to eye with the apostles ), he realizes that it is him truly that God is after, his life enlarges, he becomes outgoing like the Lord Jesus himself when he said ” For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me.” and ” For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” ( Jn.6:38; Lk.19:10 ) He becomes a man for the will of God, a man for all that are lost. I call this wonderful thing as - ” being handpicked by God.” Yes brothers and sisters, if you are a believer of Jesus, then you are personally handpicked by God. He personally took notice of you and even before that he already has a plan for you. A plan that is secured and insured by what the Lord Jesus had accomplished through the cross. A plan that he will not stop working at until it is all fulfilled. Listen to what the apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:12-14…” Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”

Watchman Nee in his book ( A Table in the Wilderness pg.7 ) has this to say…” Has the manner of God’s working in relation to your own life come home to you? Have you not been arrested by the way in which he has moved, choosing you out from multitudes around you and making you his own? Oh, I think of it often. When I was saved I was a student. I had over four hundred fellow students, and out of all that number God’s choice lighted on me.” He chose you, his eyes are upon, watching you, loving you, and he has some wonderful days in store ahead of you. To know that, to realize that, and even as we begin to experience that, we will always come to a place where we see that there is always something left for us to understand.

Here is the twist..that there is always something left for us to understand. The apostle Paul will always say I know nothing yet as I ought to know. The same when he said I press on…to take hold..and what is that? Paul is saying that there is something, a reason, why God took hold of us. And he is saying that he is pressing on to also take hold of it. I will not elaborate on this much as even Paul did not. He only said on verse 14 that it is the prize of a heavenward call in Christ. There’s the catch. There’s the excitement. Paul said that he is straining even as he press on. See that, he is straining, a picture of a runner straining and on his final dash to the finish line. And in all of this, to know that I am one that is being handpicked by God is enough. Yes to know that I am personally handpicked by God is enough. It gives me all the freedom to do that pressing on, that straining, because I know God took hold me, that he had handpicked me for the very reason I am pressing on.

Do you realize God’s love for you? That he personally handpicked you? I say press on! I say strain even doing so! Experienced how to be one so apprehended. Engage your God for this is what he desires. Take hold of that which he has taken hold of you. Be a Christian that is one always for the very will of God. You have no other worthy pursuit but Jesus Christ alone. This is how it is to be one being handpicked by God.

The Lord God Almighty enlighten you in the very reason he’s taken hold of you.

God Wills to have the Earth Govern the Action of Heaven

Friday, December 11th, 2009

“Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.” – (Ezekiel 36:37 – King James Version).

God has a purpose, which is, to increase the number of the household of Israel like a flock. Those who do not know God will say that if He wants to increase the house of Israel like a flock why does He not simply give the increase, for who can stand against Him? Yes, who can stand against the will of God? But here is a clear declaration of His will in words we are today are able to read which He so pronounced in the hearing of those who knew His counsel, – that “if He be inquired of” concerning this matter of increasing the house of Israel, He will do it for them.

The principle is unmistakable: God has a purpose already determined, but He will not outright do it until He is inquired of by the house of Israel. He wants men to inquire first. He wants the action on the earth to preceed the action of heaven.

This is in no way imply that we can force God to do what He will not do; absolutely not. We couldn’t be farther than the truth if that is what we think it is. Rather, it simply means that we may command Him to do what He desires to do. And this should be the ground that each believer must stand. That every Church must stand. God wants the Church to inquire of Him the things that He wants to do, that He desires to do. It is becuase we know God’s will that we are able to inquire of Him and command that He so mightily move heaven and earth so that His will be done.

Oh, that the cry of David be ours when he exclaimed, “Rend the heavens oh, Lord!” Is it not the same David, whom God has said, “a man after mine own heart”? “God, we want You to do these things to us! We are determined that You do this, for this is YOur will, You cannot but do it.” And so shall we have this strong and powerful prayers.

How we need to ask God to open our eyes that we may see how His work is done in this dispensation. For during this present age all the works of God are being done on this very ground that we speak of: Heaven desires to do something, but heaven will not act right away; it waits for the earth to do something first, and then it will do it. Though earth stands beneath heaven, it nevertheless is also first. Heaven will move only after earth has moved. Fod God wills to have the earth govern the action of heaven.

Thus has God subjected his will to the will of the earth. Godly men and women, take your stand at the foot of the Cross and inquire of the Lord, for the Lord wants to increase the Church so mightily. He cannot but do it.

Enjoy the ride. There is no return ticket

Hello everyone who is bent before God. I thought to publish this article here. This is from an email I recieved this morning from a friend in Houston. I believe there is so much wealth that can be gained on this article as a Christian and a believer. Enjoy the Ride.

George Carlin’s Views on Aging

Enjoy the Ride. There is no return ticket.

Enjoy the Ride. There is no return ticket.

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we’re kids? If you’re less than 10 years old, you’re so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

‘How old are you?’ ‘I’m four and a half!’ You’re never thirty-six and a half. You’re four and a half, going on five! That’s the key..

You get into your teens, now they can’t hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

‘How old are you?’ ‘I’m gonna be 16!’ You could be 13, but hey, you’re gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life ! You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony.YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There’s no fun now, you’re Just a sour-dumpling.. What’s wrong? What’s changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you’re PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it’s all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone…

But! wait!! ! You MAKE it to 60. You didn’t think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and make it to 60.

You’ve built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it’s a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80′s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn’t end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; ‘I Was JUST 92.’

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. ‘I’m 100 and a half!’
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1.
Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3.Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever, even ham radio.. Never let the brain idle.. ‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’ And the devil’s family name is Alzheimer’s.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6….
The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it.. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don’t take guilt trips.. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity..

Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
‘..holy cow ….what a ride!’

Into the Hands of God

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

” Submit yourselves, then, to God…,” the word of God says in James 4:7.

Do you believe that God is just? That what he does is just and righteous? Well, that’s who he is. Whether we understand it or not, the truth remains that he alone knows what and how it is to be just and to be right. In fact he is the one who justifies and the one who makes right.

Now what about if something goes wrong? What if along the way you encounter troubles. What if the very hand of God seems to be very heavy upon you? Will you believe? I am not here to put doubts in your heart or to point at you and say there must be something wrong in your life although God himself calls us to examine. The truth is God cares for the afflicted.

There are two classic examples of this. And they are kings. The first is quick to submit and the other one rebelled. The first live and eventually received freedom and the other one have his eyes gouged and finally executed before the king of Babylon. We can read this account in 2Kings 24:8 through ch.25:7. The name of the first is Jehoiachin and the other is Zedekiah his uncle.

But before this is a declaration through the prophet Jeremiah of an impending attack of the nation Babylon who’s king then is Nebuchadnezzar. This is because of the stubborn refusal of Judah to heed the call of God to repent of their rebellious ways. Along with the word that had been given is an exhortation to the nation and the king to submit to the king of Babylon. They are to ” serve him, to bow their neck under his yoke ” and they will live – Judah’s king and the whole nation.( Jer.27:8-12 ).

I remember an account of the life of Job after everything that he owned is gone including his seven children and his body riddled with painful sores, his wife came to him and this is how the conversations transpired: ” His wife said to him, ” Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied, ” You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not troubles? ( Job 2:9-10 )

We as Christians and as servants of the Lord, God’s word says we are like sheep that are given to slaughter ( Rom.8:36 ). It is given to us not just to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him ( Phil.1:29. That the Lord has left us an example and that we are to follow in his steps ( 1Pet.2:21 ). These, all along as we pursue the life of one who faithfully witness for Christ. Here lies the peace of the saints, of those who have rested themselves in to the very hands of God. We may not always understand but we know and declare that God is just and that all his ways are right. That he is good and that his mercies endures forever. We will be vindicated. We will be as those who proved that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Let us submit ourselves into the very hands of God.
