Our God Reigns…

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Why are we crying out to each other? This had been the case, I have seen and heard, in churches…the leadership. What are we to do? – A question that’s always and seem to have made itself a mainstay of every leader’s gathering. But isn’t it rather that we should be asking – What God is about to do? And if he is about to do something – Where is our place in that happening? Of what instrument I will be…or what role I will play?

Have we forgotten the truth that our God is the ever-living God?! Our God Reigns!! There’s not a moment that he hasn’t. Heb.1:3; Col.1:17. What actually is happening is that, we are failing to come to the Lord. What I mean is that, we don’t know how it is to consult the Lord. It’s like we are looking and asking others to consult the Lord for ourselves! The Lord is out building his Church, we have heard this many times. He is building his holy temple. “Except the Lord builds the house, the labourers therein builds in vain.” He is the builder…God is the builder! There is salvation work because of this fact. That’s why the opening statement of the Lord Jesus after his baptism is…” Repent because the Kingdom of God is at hand.” There is salvation because of the Kingdom. The motive is the Kingdom!

Our God Reigns! He is King! He is Supreme! And we are to come to him in this truth. Here is the motive of our consultation with the Lord. And a local church, a complete unit is properly equipped and enabled to consult the Lord in such. (this is another matter that will be discussed and will not be treated here) God’s word say’s it…”Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7. This is a call to us, who have been entrusted in the preparation of his saints. God is calling us to come to him and consult him that he many reveal his plans for us.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”Heb.4:16. Here is a misused verse too many times. God is concern about our needs, there’s no question to that, but we actually have used this verse just so that we may received our worldly needs that to often are just because of our worldly cares. Yes God is concern with our needs but where does or loving God place such? “Seek first the Kingdom of God….” Matt.6:33. Only in the Kingdom are all our true needs met so graciously. Praise the Lord!

Brothers and sisters if we ever come to that throne let it be not because we have worldly needs but because we have need of the fulfilment of everything that God wants to do in and through our lives. Let us come to him because we want to be fruitful servants, because we want his church prepared, because we want to see strong and fruitful believers, because we want ourselves to be the ambassadors he meant us to be, and because we want many souls reached. Let us come to him because we know, we believe, we trust, that our God reigns. He is on his throne, always. Then we will see him at work. We will see the builder! And we will be built up! Hallelujah!!
