We have heard about holiness. We have heard many about God, that he is holy. How he has given us his word as we find it in Pet.1:15 “………”Be holy, because I am holy.” Many more to this effect our gracious God has given us and we have no lack about this matter for of truth everyone who claims and profess Jesus to be their Savior and Lord are holy to the Lord.1Cor.1:2; 6:11. But then, may I ask in all of these that we have heard and in all of these that God has done and has given us: Have you desired holiness? Have you actually desired holiness that it has become a matter that you wholeheartedly pursue? For all who truly love God and desire his praise and glory this is something that is joyfully and expectantly pondered.

I have the observation of this in the many years in the Lord’s service that in the giving of the message about holiness many have actually come to think and feel of this a burden, something that is so fantastic and so out of this world that it has become something like unreal or far-fetched to a Christian that seems to be just struggling to be. This is one message that has so much doubt in it, in the process we limit God’s work in our lives. Know this: There’s an enemy. And he wants it this way. Why, because everything that our loving God will do in and through the Christian he will do by producing first a life of holiness. This must be desired like desiring God’s praise and glory.

Understand this: There’s no more other in the Christian’s life so liberating than the message about holiness. There’s no more a life so free that a Christian can realize than to find himself/herself desiring pursuing holiness. Again why? It is in this that we witness everything that is achieved in the dying and in the rising of our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is to make a people holy, it is to make you holy and we are, you are.Col.1:21-22. “Make every effort…and to be holy; without which no one will see the Lord.Heb.12:14. Who desire to see the Lord? Will you not desire and pursue holiness? Holiness is something to be desired, it is something to be pursued. Come to think of it, God just want us to desire and pursue what we already are in his saving work in Christ. Who says this is a burden? It is light and easy! Who says this is something that seems out of reach? You are already! If Christ is in you are God’s holy child. Who says we will be struggling doing so? This is something that we are to trust God with all of our hearts instead.

Desire and pursue holiness and please God. Holiness is being ready, it is a Christian and the Church strong and made ready. Holiness is fruitfulness in everything that God will do. Holiness, it is the gospel preached. Holiness, it is salvation come to all that are Lost. Holiness is Jesus proclaimed. The witness of Jesus is the witness of a holy life. Let us now see men and women that God has called. Men and women that are holy to the Lord.
