God is looking for reliable men. He is out to make men reliable for the matter about the heralding of the Gospel is all about trust. This is something that God in his grace gives men as a matter of trust. What wonderful privilege God gave men that we should be entrusted with heavenly riches in Christ! Eph.1:3.

Paul speaking in 1Cor.4:1-2 wrote…”So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and us those entrusted with the secret things of God. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must proved faithful.” This is very vital because of a provision in God’s word that says…”You then my son (Paul writing to Timothy) be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2Tim.2:1 Let us ponder a little bit here.

1. The proclamation of the Gospel is not just for men to be saved just to be saved like what understanding pervades the Church these days. It is God entrusting the riches of life in Christ. It is God giving us the Kingdom! Luke 12:32.

2.Discipleship is all about the saints coming to grips of this wonderful truth and for them to come to stand and live us such…reliable custodian of everything that is Christ.Jn.16:12-15; 1Cor.3:21-23

3.Reliability is not about being perfect, (though we are already perfect in Christ) it’s not about knowing things, (we desire to know Christ) it’s just about realizing that you are a chosen vessel and in you are riches untold, Christ himself, life, the Kingdom. Reliable means also being able to pass it on…only a reliable one can truly see those that are reliable. 2Cor.4:5-7

4.The continued and powerful proclamation of the Gospel hinges on this and God saw it. It’s all about reliable men standing true before him who have entrusted and to what has been entrusted and continually seeing and realizing more…other men and women made reliable.
